The simple rules.
No surprises. Cancel anytime. Pay only for what you take.
The $10 trial
Your first lesson is $10. It runs 30 minutes. A parent or guardian must be present (in-person) or visible on screen (online) for any student under 13. If your child finishes the trial and does not want to come back, just say so and we refund the $10 within seven days. No questions.
Weekly lessons
After the trial, lessons are weekly, 30 minutes, in person at $20 or online at $15. You pick a regular weekly slot. We will hold that slot for you as long as you keep coming.
Sibling discount
Each additional sibling enrolled at the same time is $8 off their weekly rate. So a second child is $12 per lesson in person, a third is $4. Same household only.
Payment
Pay per lesson. Cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Stripe Link, your choice. No contracts. No monthly minimums. No prepayment required for ongoing lessons.
Cancelling a lesson
- 24 hours notice: no charge, we reschedule
- Less than 24 hours: full lesson fee unless it is illness, family emergency, or weather. We always try to be human about this.
- Pausing for a while: just text Yuki. No notice required. Your slot stays held for up to two weeks. After that we may give it to someone on the waitlist.
When Yuki has to cancel
It happens occasionally (illness, school, dance commitments). You get as much notice as possible and the lesson is rescheduled or credited.
Online lessons
Online lessons run on Zoom. You provide a working keyboard or piano, a quiet space, and a reliable internet connection. Yuki will send a video recap of the lesson after every session so the student can practice with it during the week.
Photos, video, and showcasing
Studio Yuki will sometimes invite students to share short clips for social media or for the studio's site. This is always opt-in. We ask for written permission from a parent or guardian before posting anything that identifies a child. You can revoke that permission at any time and the content comes down within seven days.
Lessons are educational, not therapeutic
Studio Yuki teaches piano. We do not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic services. If your child has a specific learning need, please tell Yuki so she can adjust her teaching, but our lessons are not a substitute for professional services.
Safety
For in-person lessons in Troy, a parent or guardian is always welcome to stay in the room. We strongly encourage you to do so for the first several lessons. The studio space is on the ground floor with clear sight lines and an open layout.
Liability
By enrolling, you agree that Studio Yuki and its instructor are not liable for any injury or loss except in cases of gross negligence. We carry liability insurance for the studio. By taking part in a lesson, you accept the normal risks of any in-home or online educational activity.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything important, we will post a notice on the site and let active families know by text or email. Continuing to take lessons after a change means you accept it.
